BAFA bans exports of medical protective equipment

Germany’s ‘Bundesamt für Wirtschaft und Ausfuhrkontrolle’ (BAFA) has announced that the joint crisis management team, comprised of the Federal Ministry's of the Interior (BMI) and of Health (BMG) has issued an export ban on medical protective equipment. The global need for medical protective equipment has greatly increased due to the outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. Therefore, to avoid (or not further strengthen) a local undersupply of such items as respiratory masks, protective goggles, protective suits, etc., the export ban is effective immediately. Exceptions are only possible with an application to BAFA. For further details, follow this link.
