German customs opens new online portal and updates handbook on export licenses, authorization codes

Since 1 October 2019 the Citizen and Business Customer Portal (Bürger- und Geschäftskundenportal) from German Customs (Generalzolldirektion, "Zoll") has been available online. This portal, requiring a one-time registration, allows access to customs services. Binding tariff information is now only available via the portal, and other services, such as EORI number management and the SEPA direct debit mandate, are also available on the portal. Additionally, Zoll has updated its "Handbook for export licenses, authorization codes, electronic depreciation" (Handbuch Ausfuhrgenehmigungen, Genehmigungscodierungen, elektronische Abschreibung). This manual, version 7.0, reflects regulations as of 27 September 2019 and replaces the July 2019 leaflet on authorization codes, electronic registration, and the depreciation of exports subject to licensing in ATLAS Export.
