'No deal' Brexit scenario: Guidance for exporting controlled goods

The UK's Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU) has published the latest 'guidance' report regarding export controls on:

  • Military items

  • Dual-use items (items with both civil and military uses)

  • Civilian firearms

  • Items usable for torture

in case of a 'no deal' Brexit scenario in March 2019.

This 'guidance' report is a part of a series of technical notices to inform businesses and citizens of the requirements in the case of a 'no deal' scenario between the UK and the EU.

In this 'guidance' report it is reiterated that a 'no deal' Brexit scenario "remains unlikely given the mutual interests of the UK and the EU in securing a negotiated outcome."
