The National Emergencies Act of the US, with respect to situation in Ukraine, has been renewed. Thus, the sanctions against Russia, introduced under President Obama, will be valid until March, 2018. PST.AG will continue to provide all the data related to these sanctions against Russia.
President-elect Donald Trump will soon be president and we can expect numerous changes in sanctions especially against Russia and China (regarding North Korea). No matter what changes are made, PST.AG will be very quick to update the data on these sanctions. Magnitsky Act law was established in 2012 in response to the death of Sergei Magnitsky who died in Moscow Prison after investigating fraud involving Russian tax officials.
Now, Obama has added five Russians with regards to Magnitsky sanctions. Today, we have started to distribute the data to our customers.
In 1999, the Kingpin Act started to include sanctions against people involved in narcotics trade. The OFAC has recently released two additional Kingpin Act General Licences: - 3B (click for more details) and - 4E (click for more details) These Licences came into action since 5th January 2017, and PST.AG will prepare the data regarding these General licenses in the future. Before, US had imposed sanctions on five Russian government entities and four individuals in response to alleged interference with US elections. Now, the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), pursuant to E.0. 13694, declared sanctions on additional two Russian individuals for hacking. PST.AG has processed data for these new sanctions.
